Lakeside Congregational Safety & Security
Lakeside Assembly of God is committed to providing a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for every person who steps onto our campus. Our policies, training, and procedures are designed to protect children, students, and adults while fostering a culture of trust and accountability.
Child & Youth Safety
Our Commitment
At Lakeside Assembly of God, the safety of every child and student is our highest priority. We believe ministry to the next generation should always happen in a secure, loving, and transparent environment. We are dedicated to providing a place where parents feel confident and children can grow in faith, free from harm or risk. Every staff member and volunteer who serves with minors is carefully screened, trained, and actively involved in the life of our church.
Our Safety Practices
Church Membership
All children’s and youth ministry leaders are active, trusted members of Lakeside Assembly of God before serving in any leadership or volunteer role.
Comprehensive Federal Background Checks
Every employee and volunteer working with minors completes a nationwide criminal background check.
Two–Adult Rule
No single child or student is ever alone with one adult. We maintain open doors, visible spaces, and team-based ministry at all times.
During bathroom breaks, two approved adults are present nearby to ensure safety and accountability. When younger children need assistance, we call for parental help immediately. At no time is an adult ever alone with a child in a private or closed space.
Check-In / Check-Out
Children (ages 0–12) are checked in securely and released only to verified parents or guardians.
Ongoing Training
Our team receives annual and ongoing training in child protection, mandatory reporting, and recognizing signs of abuse or neglect.
Accountability
Classrooms and meeting spaces are designed for visibility and safety, with windows, cameras, and open-door policies in place.
Offsite Activities
Safety does not stop when we leave the building. All offsite events—such as camps, conventions, and outings—are carefully planned and supervised by leaders who follow the same safety standards used on campus. Transportation, lodging, scheduling, and activity plans are reviewed to ensure every child and student is cared for and protected at every step.
Campus Security & Emergency Readiness
Lakeside maintains a comprehensive safety infrastructure across our campus to protect and ensure the well-being of everyone on site.
Security Systems
We utilize internal and external cameras, controlled electronic access points, and secure hallway monitoring.
Our preschool ministries area is a secured facility. Parents receive a secure access code to ensure that only authorized individuals may enter the preschool ministry wing.
Medical Readiness
Trained personnel, emergency medical supplies, and first-aid equipment are available during all services and on-site events.
Preparedness & Response
Our Lakeside Security Team receives training in emergency response, de-escalation, and coordination with local law enforcement and medical services.
Reporting a Concern
If you ever see or hear something that concerns you regarding the safety or well-being of a child or student, please contact a member of our pastoral staff or security team immediately. Your vigilance keeps our community strong.
